TRANSITIONAL EMPLOYMENT Program description All individuals work with a case manager to assure that they are progressing toward self-sufficiency. While working, participants develop “soft skills” such as conflict resolution, adherence to scheduled work and break hours, communicating with supervisors, resolving situations that may interfere with work, etc. At the start of transitional employment, the individual will work with Goodwill staff to identify goals and objectives. Once the goals and objectives have been obtained and maintained, typically within one year, individuals are transitioned to a community business site or referred to Goodwill’s resource center and placement services. Entry into transitional employment begins with an intake session with a case manager at Goodwill’s Michigan Street office. Work assignments may be made at various locations to best suit the participant. Entry requirements
