WORK EXPERIENCE
Program description
Individuals in Work Experience develop pre-vocational skills in an industrial
work setting at Goodwill while working with a case manager to develop an
Individual Program Plan to identify and achieve their personal goals and
objectives. For some people with disabilities, Goodwill’s Work Experience
program is a valuable start toward a self-sufficient working career. Goodwill
operates its Work Experience in a number of locations in Indianapolis, providing
a wide variety of workplace activities and opportunities.
Entry requirements
Individuals must have a documented disability as determined by the Indiana Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation or the Bureau of Developmental Disabilities. Individuals must demonstrate physical stability, emotional stability and the ability to self-medicate.
Additional Information
The entry procedure for Work Experience begins with a case conference between the individual, the referral agency and a Goodwill case manager. Before beginning Work Experience, the individual will take part in designing an Individual Program Plan that outlines objectives and goals.
