Kenneth A. File, joined Goodwill Industries Foundation of Central Indiana, Inc. in 2012 as Vice President for Advancement. He has over 30 years of experience in nonprofit management, the last 15 years as the chief development officer for Delta Tau Delta Educational Foundation. File serves as President of the North American Interfraternity Foundation and also is a member of The Association of Fund Raising Professionals, National Committee on Planned Giving and the Indiana Society of Fund Raising Professionals. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from Kansas State University and an MBA from University of Indianapolis.

Robin L. Kares, CFRE, is the Director of Development for the Goodwill Industries Foundation and reports directly to the president of Goodwill. She oversees all functions of the Foundation, is the primary grant contact for the organization, is responsible for both internal and external reporting, and works with donors to help them meet their philanthropic goals at any level.

Robin holds a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education – English from the University of Evansville, and graduate degrees in English from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. She came to work for Goodwill in 1998 after teaching English at the University level for 20 years.

Robin is the Vice President of Programs for the Indiana Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, serves on the IUPUI Nina Scholars Advisory Council, is Senior Warden at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Franklin and volunteers for NAMI, Indianapolis.

In her spare time, she is an avid reader, gardener and bird watcher.

Matt Connor

Matt Connor is the Development Manager for the Goodwill Industries Foundation, working with the director on all aspects of the Foundation, including the annual fund, writing appeals, donor stewardship and both internal and external communication. Matt graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor’s degree in Government and International Relations, and later went on to receive a Master’s in Public Affairs from Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis.

Prior to coming to the Goodwill Industries Foundation, Matt worked with the City of Indianapolis’ Department of Metropolitan Development as a grant manager, overseeing housing grants as both a grant writer and grant maker. Prior to that, he worked with the Indiana Coalition on Housing and Homeless Issues, working with housing providers around the state to apply for federal funding.

Matt serves on the board for the Notre Dame Club of Indianapolis, and on the Development Committee at Horizon House.

Ken Ahlbrand

Ken Ahlbrand joined the Goodwill Industries Foundation in December 2006. Coming from a corporate background with experience in a variety of industries ranging from insurance to natural gas to pharmaceuticals, Ken was a good match for the entrepreneurial environment of Goodwill Industries of Central Indiana. This native Hoosier studied policy at IUPUI’s SPEA and, in addition to maintaining the donor database, provides administrative support to the Foundation staff.
