SHARED EXPECTATIONS
SERVICE: We expect service to be meaningful and productive – “No standing around guarantee”!
LEARNING: We expect volunteers to learn about our mission and the people we serve.
ENGAGEMENT: We expect volunteers and Goodwill employees to share stories and interact throughout the day.
IMPORTANT REMINDERS
SAFETY: Volunteers and employees will be physically and emotionally safe throughout the day. Volunteers please do not touch any potentially dangerous materials (broken glass, sharp metal, etc.).
VALUES: As you work in the stores with our employees and shoppers, please let respect, flexibility and patience guide your interactions.
PERMISSION FIRST: To protect the safety and privacy of our employees and shoppers, please do not take photos without their permission. Pictures and social media posts are OK only if verbal consent has been given from all parties involved and content is shared as an “expression of the individual”, not on behalf of their organization.
ASK QUESTIONS: If there’s something about your volunteer job, our stores, or the organization that you don’t understand — let’s talk! If a customer asks you a question, please direct them to a Goodwill employee.
